Chess Puzzle of the Week

One carefully selected checkmate, fully explained and permanently available.

A worked checkmate worth studying

Puzzle of the Week slows the training loop down. Each position is playable, exhaustively verified with Mated's forced-mate engine, and annotated to explain the key idea rather than merely display a move sequence.

The permanent archive keeps every weekly lesson available for review. Each page records the mate depth, difficulty, principal defensive line, and the reason that defense still fails.

From one position into deliberate practice

After studying the solution, continue into the matching Mastery depth, revisit the solving method, or learn the checkmate pattern behind the finish. The goal is to turn one memorable position into a reusable calculation habit.
