Mated gives you one chess puzzle a day: a real position with a forced mate hiding in it. Everyone in the world gets the same puzzle. Find the mate in 2, 3, or 4 moves, keep your streak alive, and share your result without spoiling the solution. If you like Wordle-style daily games and you like chess, this is your five minutes.
Tap a piece, then tap its target square, or drag it. You always play up the board. Deliver checkmate within the shown number of moves. A wrong try costs you one of your tries, and when they run out the day is lost. A new puzzle arrives at midnight Eastern.
When one puzzle a day is not enough, Rush is a survival run: solve checkmate puzzles back to back, from mate in 1 warmups to expert mate in 5 positions. One wrong move is a strike, and three strikes ends the run. Chase your best score.
Every day at midnight Eastern time. Yesterday's puzzle stays available for practice.
The daily puzzle, your streak, and your stats are always free. Mated Rush gives you three free runs a day, and Mated Club is an optional membership for unlimited Rush plus the full archive and all board themes.
No. You can play right away. Signing in keeps your streak and stats across devices.
The side to move can force checkmate within 3 moves, no matter how the defender replies. Every Mated puzzle has a forced mate: your job is to find it.
Real games. Positions are drawn from the Lichess open puzzle database and every solution is verified by our own engine before it reaches the site.
Mated is a 21x20 Media game. The rest of our daily games are at 21x20.com.
